Climate Change a Serious Problem Pt1

Date: April 30 2018

Climate Change and eco-fairness is it time to give it real consideration before it reaches a level of global catastrophe.

It is a fact that something is happening to the climate of our planet.

Scientists around the world are telling us that it is due to the polution we are emitting into the atmosphere and the natural processes of nature are not able to handle the volume as necessary in order to maintain a stable environment and the consequences of our resistance to change will cause a lot of hardship.

It seems to me that if that is true we should, as a global community, be doing something about it. Wouldn't you agree?

So the question is why aren't we? Currently when our political and hereditary leaders go to climate change conferences they all talk a great story, They discuss the problems, they bring their handful of scientists and make terrific presentations and then for icing on the cake they promise to take action. Some even go so far as to say specifically what they will do to meet the challenges of the century. My goodness they look so good and finally they come home like heroes returning from the battle fields and the people applaud them for their initiatives and promises.

Then time passes, perhaps a week or two, and the Banshee wailing, screams of desperation and sobs of economic loss from the rich and powerful begins to drown out reasonable thought. At this time the final phase in the climate change initiative begins. After a month or two goals and promises are watered down, many are even forgotten or recheduled for a later date and the wailing, shouting, whining and panic begins to subside calming the pages of the media and quieting the souls of the one percent until the original initiative looses its momentum and reaches an acceptable level of apathy and indifference.

Now I, being neither rich nor powerful, perceive this as a problem.

Do any of you who may not be rich or powerful see this as well?

As a member of the 99% I and all other members will be the uppermost victims of catastrophe.
Already even at the middle class levels of societies around the world people are feeling the impact of this change. Whether that is through inconveniences caused by flooding, fires or just higher costs for basic services due to corporate risk mitigations or governments building mitigating buttresses or disaster recovery systems we are paying a cost.

I for one cannot imagine what it will be like if my town was washed away or my income for a year just disappeared due to a natural disaster. An experience affecting millions of people in more economically challenged parts of the world.

If the governments, elected or imposed, of the world are not willing to convene a global conference and make binding commitments to address the solutions to prevent or at least mitigate globally the impacts of increasing climate disasters perhaps it is time that we the people begin to insist from the grass roots upward that they begin immediately to take a global initiative to resolve and or mitigate the impending effects of global climatic changes.

How we do that? That is my question.

1) It needs to be done on a global scale.
2) It must be consistent across the world.
3) It must NOT be threatening to any government.
4) It must be persistent until action is taken.
5) It must be a serious, formal and credible demand that they take action.

Check back soon, I may have a method.
